For once, from the studio we’re going to reveal to you how we do our voice over services from start to the end product, or so it seems. =)

What Happens When We Receive a Call for Voice Overs?

Working with The Cat Records Studio is plain straightforward, and we make it as easy as can be. Expect a reply within few hours if you’re contacting us through email.

We’ll send you a demo on your request of the voice over/talent you’re looking for.
Send us an inquiry to get a proposal from us.
Expect to receive a proposal within a few hours if not a day, from us. If the price seems good to you, then provide us with your scripts. Whenever possible, telling us more about your voice over narration project would be good. Examples: Pace of speech, style of narration, highlights and accent on certain words and even a short clip of the video the voice is meant for, would really help the voice talent do a better job!

Work Starts & What You Need will Be Produced

When work in process in the studio with our voice talent, an invoice will be sent to you. Choices to pay are from bank-in, credit card, or paypal. If a bank-in is done, we’ll need a receipt from you.
We’ll deliver the audio files in your preferred formats. From wav, mp3, aiff, etc. for your convenience. Tell us to send them to you by mail, ftp transfer, or download it off our online storage.

Check & Check & Check, till it’s Good

Double check the sounds files we’ve sent you. We love to work and submit perfection.
Any changes needed after work is done, will not be charged. It will be free or charge, and voiced plus narrate again by the same voice talent.
We will make sure you love the work we’ve done for you, for we value you as a valuable client and wish to work together in the near futures. Cheers!

What Actually Happens in The Studio When You Are Doing Voice Narration in Malaysia?

So, we’ve finished explaining the dealing part. What happens in the recording studio, with the voice talent?

1. We call the voice talent & explain how to do the voice over in the studio. Scripts are passed, and the soonest dates to record are set.

2. Voice talent, comes for recording, engineered by professional recording engineer. Professional microphones and dead sounding rooms are a must, to capture and record the accurate, clear & concise voice of the talents. Any other mic or room wouldn’t do.

3. So, everything is recorded. Now the editing part. The best of each section recorded, would be sliced up and merge. Quite strenuous task, but that’s it’s where the voice narration gets it’s chance to sound great. We’ll probably accidentally record the squeak of the chair, the rustle of the paper or maybe a cough or two. With our professional sound facility, we will eliminate and reduce those unwanted noises, to make sure the voice narration is all we hear.

4. Once done, there’s where the file output stage comes. Before outputting, there is a process called Mastering. Mastering is a process, where we make the recorded audio, sound loud enough if were to play back on other audio systems. Important, so you don’t find yourself turning the volume up higher to hear your voiceover. It’s a process, where we make our recordings to sound commercial, being loud and audible enough.

It’s probably not as easy as many would think. And many amateurs with home studio owners, misses out a few processes here and there. And who knows, they might even charge you more than what an affordable recording studio would, for a voice over or narration.
